Congratulations on your impending nuptials! You've most likely set a date for the big day by now. One of the next steps will almost certainly be deciding who you want to stand up with you as bridesmaids. It's best to get this in place as soon as possible because you'll want them to be a part of, and possibly even help with, all wedding-related events and functions.

These are your closest friends and/or family members. And this is a HUGE deal for both you and them. It's a privilege to be asked to be a part of your special day, and it's a privilege for them to be a part of your special day. So, why not spice things up a little? Request that your ladies fulfill this most prestigious role by doing something they will never forget.

A Message in a Locket

That's the only thing there is to it. Purchase a locket for each lady. You can even have a locket made with their initial engraved on the front. Slip a small printed or handwritten slip of paper inside and ask, "Will you be my bridesmaid?" She can wear the locket to wedding functions and even on the wedding day if the style matches her gown.

Pre-Bridesmaid Gift for Bridesmaids

If you're confident they'll say yes, move quickly to plan the bridesmaids' gifts. "Bridesmaid" can be embroidered on tote bags or flip flops. A charm bracelet with their initial would also be a thoughtful gift.

In any case, they can wear them to all wedding functions and use them during the wedding planning process. Consider how surprised they'll be when they open the gift!

"Suggest" a Question

Set up a mock proposal with ring pops! They look like massive gem rings, but they're actually lollipops. You can even open them and make your proposal on one knee. It's jovial and whimsical!

If you're "proposing" to a larger group as opposed to one on one, simply arrange them neatly in boxes with the big question printed inside.

Something Delicious

Give each girl who participated in the cut a cookie in the shape of a dress or flower with the words "Will you be my bridesmaid?" written in icing. They're probably not going to eat it because it's too cute, but what a sweet way to inquire!

Cupcakes with printing inside the box or decorative pastry sticks with a space for the question can also be used. The box or stick can be saved, but the cupcake must be consumed!

A Standard Card

If none of these other suggestions appeal to you, a simple card will do! And it's something she'll keep as a keepsake. Make them yourself, DIY! Alternatively, you could have them printed. In either case, they'll love and appreciate the sentiment.

It Requires Wine

Personalize the wine bottle labels with your message, or have each girl's question engraved on a wine glass. If you enjoy a good bottle of wine and are a wine enthusiast, this is the one for you!

They can put these gifts to good use later, when you get together to plan or celebrate. What could be better than planning a wedding while sipping a glass of Bordeaux or Cabernet? Set out a cheese tray to make it an official wine and cheese party!

You can also encourage the bridesmaids to use these special wine glasses at the wedding reception, adding to the memories associated with the use of this special item. They'll keep it indefinitely.
